April is the month in Guangzhou when things really kick into gear. Spring is officially here and the city finally feels the warm weather, meaning that Guangzhou's great outdoors truly comes alive. Here we highlight some great events for the month to get you started.

If you want to appreciate cherry blossoms, there really is no need to travel all the way to Japan. Guangzhou's Haizhu Wetland is now holding its own cherry blossom festival through April 9. The wetland is featuring nine themed scenes such as sightseeing buses and bridge. People also can experience a market, Chinese tea art, and traditional archery.
